AMAZING
We were very suprised...for us it was very amazing view and we enjoyed the racing, thanks to Jacques Ritter.
Our concierge was unable to get us
booked into the Crown Lodge as it was full. We decided to email Jaques
to ask if there were any cancellations could he let us know? Jacques
replied almost straight away & after a discussion with my husband he
told us, to our delight, that he would be able to give us access to the
members lounge. The only thing was we had to locate a jacket & tie
for my husband to wear. Not something he would usually bring on holiday!
Thankfully the wonderful Venay at our hotel came to his rescue by
providing him with a jacket & Jacques kindly supplied the tie.
Despite not actually spending the whole afternoon in the Crown Lodge venue we were warmly welcomed by Jaques & his team. We had an identical experience to his guests at the lodge. They constantly checked on us to make sure everything was ok. The drink was constantly supplied by the helpful waiters & the food on offer was of a very good standard too. We met other guests of Jacques in the members lounge & had a very enjoyable afternoon.
The ladies had a behind the scene visit to the meet with officials & watch one of the races from the commentary box! The men were taken to the weigh room after a race & got to meet the champion jockey this season.
After the races had finished we joined Jacques, his team and the other guests & continued to enjoy the fantastic hospitality that was on offer.
If you ever plan a holiday to Mauritius make sure you book this day out. It was worth every penny & we would highly recommend it. The season runs on fixed dates with race meetings held on a Saturday.
